Through various sundry twists and turns (you do know that God's providence is fascinating, don't you?), Spectrum is actually getting worked on now...but it's not just a Sparks of Reformation production--it's supposed to be a joint production with two other filmmakers. One, my friend Andrew, has had previous experience in the field, the other, Hannah (whom I have not yet met in person though her family lives but five miles away!), has not had any previous experience.
I am the director and the editor. As of this writing, I shall probably be the screenwriter as well, but I'm not going to camp on that as an absolute yet. Andrew has been slated as the producer.
I am hoping, after my first "report" to Andrew next Monday, that we may be able to split up the research (which in my opinion will speed the pre-production process up). At this point, I have a fairly comprehensive outline laid out. Two actually, one is simply an outline: a brief "idea" of what I'm aiming at. The second is kind of an expanded outline expounding in more detail on each of my points.
The subtitle to Spectrum is: Autism in the Church. My intentions are to speak not just of autism, but also other spectrum disorders (i.e. ADHD, ADD, etc.), but it may be a little too expansive. (Then, of course, at this point, it is kind of fuzzy as whether they are on the autism spectrum. I do believe, because of my convictions as to one of the causes of autism, that they are connected.) If that is the case, I may have to change the name of the production, since autism is really only one of many disorders falling in the spectrum.
