Even though I like the story for my script, it is vitally important before I go much farther for me to solidly get the focus down. My biggest problem at this time is trying to express the protagonist's goal and not have it sound trite. With this in mind, I have set about trying to draft a suitable logline.
This is my attempt so far:
Title: His Wife
Genre: Historical Drama
Logline: When a young soldier in the Continental Army discovers that his beloved new wife is a Tory, he must learn what duty means.
What do you think? Any suggestions? Can you identify what the protagonist's goal is?
******
Next step: writing a treatment!
